La Tierra Community School 2013-14 Enrollment Procedures
Re-Enrollment
February 18 – March 1, 2013
All students wishing to return to La Tierra Community School for the 2013-2014 School Year are required to complete re-enrollment application. The re-enrollment application must be turned in to La Tierra Community School within the re-enrollment window of February 18 – March 1, 2013 complete with all supporting documents and fees.
All returning students are required to have their re-enrollment applications submitted to La Tierra Community School during the re-enrollment window. Students whose re-enrollment applications are not turned in by March 1, 2013 are required to follow all procedures pertinent to La Tierra Community School Open Enrollment.
Kindergarten Enrollment
February 25 – March 8, 2013
Kindergarten Enrollment window for the La Tierra Community School 2013-2014 School Year is February 25 – March 8, 2013.
All prospective kindergarten families should plan to attend one of the four Kindergarten Orientation & Information Sessions offered
- Thursday, February 21, 2013 5:30pm-6:30pm
- Monday, February 25, 2013 5:30pm-6:30pm
- Thursday, February 28, 2013 5:30pm-6:30pm
- Monday, March 4, 2013 5:30pm-6:30pm
Kindergarten Orientation & Information Sessions will be held at La Tierra Community School in the kindergarten classroom with Ms. Mary Layman, La Tierra’s fabulous and dedicated kindergarten teacher. During the sessions you will have the opportunity to:
- Bring your prospective kindergartener to the orientation.
- Meet the Kindergarten Teacher and Director of La Tierra.
- Participate in a dynamic kindergarten lesson.
- Participate in an information circle to develop a greater understanding of citizen scholarship, character education, academic rigor, service learning, fieldwork and engaging classroom practices at La Tierra Community School.
- Ask questions and discover answers to inform your decision about La Tierra Community School.
- Receive enrollment information for the 2013-2014 school year.
- Complete one requirement of the enrollment process through attending an orientation session.

1st through 8th Grade Open Enrollment
March 18 – March 29, 2013
First – Eighth Grade Open Enrollment window for the La Tierra Community School 2013 - 2014 School Year is March 18 – March 29, 2013.
All new families interested in discovering if La Tierra Community School is the best fit for their child and family must follow these processes in order to enroll their child in La Tierra Community School for the 2013-1014 School Year.
- ALL NEW FAMILIES MUST ATTEND A “LOOK AT LA TIERRA” ORIENTATION SESSION AS A REQUIREMENT FOR COMPLETING THE ENROLLMENT APPLICATION PROCESS
- Students who have siblings at La Tierra will be given priority placement for the 2013-2014 School Year.
- All students wishing to attend La Tierra Community School for the 2013-2014 School Year are required to complete an enrollment application. The enrollment application must be turned in to La Tierra Community School within the enrollment window of March 18 - March 29, 2013 complete with all supporting documents.
- All prospective students are required to have their enrollment applications submitted to La Tierra Community School during the Open Enrollment window.
- When the number of applications exceeds the openings in a grade level, La Tierra Community School has a lottery system for placement of students. Students will be offered placements at La Tierra Community School accordingly.
- Students who are not enrolled after the lottery process will be put on a waiting list baseon the date of their application submission.
- After the Open Enrollment window, students will receive an offer to attend La Tierra Community School. Families will have two weeks to accept the offer and have all required new student documents and fees submitted to La Tierra Community School for the 2013- 2014 School Year.
After La Tierra Community School’s Open Enrollment window, students may continue to apply to attend La Tierra Community School by completing the enrollment procedures above. New student placements will be given according to availability and/or wait-list position.

If your student has been suspended or expelled from another education institution, enrollment is prohibited at LTCS.
